The Meaning of Home
Everybody has a different meaning of home. For some people it’s a place where they are loved, and for others comfort. Home to me is a lot of things. It is laughter, chatter, cooking, and family.
In my home, guests and family enjoy wonderful meals together. There's that magical aroma that comes from the kitchen when my mom is cooking. That always makes my stomach rumble!
Home is where you can eat meals that smell and taste like heaven. Those comfort foods, like pumpkin soup, Rajma Chawal (Red Kidney Bean Curry) and others, taste and look like no other.
Sometimes those simple family dinner times, when you joke, laugh, and eat with family, are the best moments you can have in a home.
Then there’s those picture perfect moments that I enjoy with my family. At times, they literally become a picture on the wall. Home is where everyone takes their first steps and learns to do so many cool things.
A Home is where you party with friends and family and laugh until your throat hurts. You can chatter until it's after 12:00 am and not even realize the time.
The perfect home isn’t in the perfect house. It’s in the people you love. It’s the memories you make in a house that makes it a home.
Your life's story doesn’t begin with a house. It begins with a home. Everyday when you come back from work or school you have someplace safe to come back to. Everyone should have some place to call home.
Many people don’t have homes and it’s up to us to give them one. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving homes to people. Thank you for giving students like me an opportunity to give back to the very community we came from.
