My Home!

My house is not just a building made of wood and concrete, it is a home where I feel safe and loved! Did you know that 318 million people in the world have no home which is approximately 28% of the world’s population. These next few reasons are why I am so grateful for my home Walking in the door to my house after a long day of school, I get hit with a wave of relief as I smell the scent of my mom making dinner and the appetizing looks of the homemade recipes inside of the pot. Next, I see my fluffy dog greeting me with a bark. As I sit down for a tempting meal, I share all about my day with my family. After dinner I sit down to a quiet home and all to hear is the furnace in the depths of my basement, the unique sound of my laundry machine and the racket of my sister and I in the basement playing hockey or other games while also trying to calm down to go to bed. Meanwhile walking up the stairs I quickly look at all the things in my home that makes it a special place like my carefully constructed LEGO sets high up on display, dog hair scattered on the carpet and especially my parents who do so much for me and my sister. In my bedroom I feel the soft carpet under my feet and my extra calming bed that I’m about to jump into. I dream about all sorts of things and wake up to the comfort of my home and the sizzling of bacon getting fried or scrambled eggs cooking in the pan. And my family went downstairs. My home is very comforting for so many different reasons and I hope my writing about my home encourages you to write about yours, and makes you think about how privileged you are.
