What Home Means to Me

Home isn’t just a place I live, it’s where I feel most like myself. To me, it’s less about the walls, and more about the feeling of belonging. At home, I feel as if I can loosen up. Like home takes away all my worries. For example, when I arrive home after school, home helps me relax and recharge after a long day. I don’t feel judged when I’m at home, instead I feel loved and cared for. Like I can fit in without any requirements. For I can be carefree when I’m at home. It’s as if I'm holding in my breath the entire day, but as soon as I return home I can exhale. Home means a variety of things to me. Like family, love, quality time, and I can't forget. A place to live. I’m extremely grateful to have a roof over my head, as well as a caring and loving family. Neither overpowers the other. I know there are a lot of families who don’t have a roof to live under, and poverty is still a very common thing. So I am incredibly appreciative to my family for everything they’ve done for me, and I hope those families who are struggling get what they need from this and many other children’s writings. Thank you for reading.
