Meaning of Home

When you think of a home you probably picture a house, or an apartment, or some other building. But really, a home can be almost anywhere. For me, my home is a house. My house has many rooms, but those aren’t what make a place a home. It’s memories, feelings, and family that make a place a home. In my home, the walls are lined with pictures, each one a snapshot of our adventures and different times we spent together. In my kitchen, I think of the Sundays when my mom made pancakes, scrambled eggs, and waffles for me and my brother. In my living room, I think of Christmas morning, which fills the room with laughter and joy. But home is not just family, it just has to be somewhere special. Somewhere you feel loved, and free to be who you are. Pets, memories, family and the way you feel at home are all things that make a home a home. But some people don’t have homes, some people live in tents on the streets. I think everyone deserves a place where they can feel safe, welcomed, and loved. I think everyone deserves a home.
