What Home Means to Me!

The meaning of home can be very different to everyone. For example your home could be warm, cozy, clean, or safe. But other homes aren't like that, worse sometimes. Home to me is a warm, cozy and loving place to be living in. Here are some reasons why I'm grateful for my home. One thing home means to me is safety. Safety is important for all homes because the world can be a horrible place filled with bad people that make bad decisions. So being outside isn't safe for families. You have a higher chance of witnessing one of these bad people do horrible things and having to work 6:00am to 10:00pm every day for years when you're only a kid. Warmth and protection is also important in homes. Imagine being outside in the middle of winter with no coats, no boots, no snowpants or gloves, just a t-shirt and pants, maybe with a tent, and shivering in the freezing cold with nothing, not even a blanket to wrap around yourself. Imagine you and your family barely surviving in that situation. It's not nice to think about, but that's what some families go through daily. It's a heartbreaking case but unfortunately it's reality. Love is very important in every home, even broken ones. Love is important because you get to feel your emotions and have your family with you right by your side to get you through the toughest times in life. The feeling of your loved ones arms around you when you're upset, the feeling of their warmth just brings you joy doesn't it? That's for some families, other families have parents that don't care about their children. Worst case scenario they even hurt their kids. That is why love is extremely important for homes and families. A clean home is also very important. Your home is probably clean right now. All nice and shiny and smells like flowers every nook and cranny swept and dusted. Some homes aren't like that at all, some homes don’t smell like flowers, aren't clean or shiny. Some homes are next to dumpsters and their homes smell like rubbish and are dirty and full of mold and rats. Imagine that as your home, not nice is it? Well unfortunately in some cases that's some children's homes. I am so grateful to have a place to call home, it's warm and safe and I have my loved ones to hold me through the darkest times.
