All the meanings of home
Home is safe, happy, joyful and hopeful. But the most important thing is the people inside it. Home isn’t just a building, it’s memory lane. In the living room there’s always something going on: from talking to watching a movie to playing with cats. Even just the smallest to biggest things they all matter. In the kitchen something is always smelling good, even if I’ve had it one million times it always tastes good. Sometimes I bake with my mom or Emily and we are so blessed to be able to eat the food that we have. The most important part of all that is the stories going on at the dinner table. Sometimes they’re happy sometimes they’re silly, sometimes they’re sad and sometimes they don’t even have a topic. Sometimes you have the hardest day and I go to my room to forget about the world for a bit. Most of the time I turn a video on, turn off the lights, get under my blanket and cuddle my bear fifi. It helps get away from the world. Sometimes in my room I get super messy and make crafts. Sometimes I dance, sometimes I am loud or I whisper “shh.” Sometimes I call my friends, and mostly I try new things. Outside in the winter I jump in the snow. Outside in the summer we have barbeques and go on the swing. Sometimes I go in the sprinkler and do sidewalk chalk and pick apples off the apple tree and chase the cats. It’s really fun! But what really matters is love. In my house I love everybody. My mom, my dad, Em/Emily, Doug/Douglas, my cats and my stuffed bear fifi. So home is not just a building.
