Reasons

Hello, I’m Kal, this is my life. I live in an alley on Homend street. My brother’s name is Kase, we call him Grass though. He's called that because we had to eat small amounts of food a long time ago, he’d eat the grass around us instead. Father always tried to make him spit it out. Mother is saving her money for a house but I don't want to leave. Whenever I ask her why we have to leave, mother says “don’t you want to live in a house instead of an alley, Kal?” I tried giving her reasons like how the memories here are too meaningful to just leave behind or how home is in this alley. After the dispute my mother still said we are leaving. It was a very long dispute. My brother said he’d take in the stray cat that usually comes to the alley if she bought the house. I thought he got her there. She disliked the cat, it stole things from us. For some reason mother said that we could take it in. Finally, we came to our house. It was big enough to amuse my brother but not me. When we came inside the walls were white not like the outside where it was mostly a black-ish. I found a large black box that had glass in front of it and a stick with buttons. My mother said it’s a present called a TV. I tried figuring it out but I couldn’t get the glass to change from black to rainbow like mother said so I moved on. The house to me was small but then I saw stairs going into the ground. I tried going down but I fell, my brother caught me by an inch. We laughed about how clumsy I was and then I realized that home is where your family is, that is where my family and I are…home.
