What Home Means to Me

My home. My home is a house…but other houses could never be my home. Home is a place where you can relax after a hard day at school. Home is also a place where my birthday parties are hosted, and when I’m waiting for my dad to get home to watch Stranger Things together. Home is that feeling of connection. Home wouldn’t be my home without that one squeaky step or without all the dog hair on the floor. That’s what makes it my safe place the best place ever! My heart knows I’m home before my eyes, as well as my nose. I can smell my dog, and the chips in the cabinets. Without these senses it just doesn’t feel like home. Without all these memories, I would still be scared to go downstairs. I wouldn’t spring to wake up my parents on Christmas morning. I wouldn’t have as big of a smile on my face looking for the easter eggs. You can by a house not a Home.
