Meaning of Home

Meaning Of Home By Ethan Savinkoff Age 9, Grade 4 When I think of home, I think of a warm and cozy place where I am safe and cared for. It is where I can relax with my family. I see my dog waiting excitedly for me to return from school, then he jumps up at me and licks my face! I smell food cooking as my mom makes my favourite dinner. I hear my mom and dad taking about what fun things we should do on the weekend. Home is laughter and fun, it is also comfort and rest. Some say, ‘home is where you hang your hat’, but I believe when people say ‘home is where the heart is’. Home is more than the house you live in. It can be a feeling too. At home I feel loved. Home means family and friends who care about me. It is where I can be myself. Everyone should have a place where they feel safe, accepted and loved. Everyone should have a place to call home.
