Home

In my 12 years of living, I have already lived in 3 homes. One is an apartment in Mississauga and the other in Brampton, where my little sister Anika was born, and the home I'm living in today, in Brampton. Moving houses wasn’t always easy, but every new home taught me that home isn’t just a place, it’s the people inside it. My favorite part about coming home is my little sister. Even though she annoys me a lot, I love her. My kitchen has a delicious smell when my mom, dad, or grandpa cooks. The little pictures above my living room couch, are like the core memories that keep the whole family together forever. My bunk bed is my secret base where I play with my little sister on the top bunk. I love when I go in the corner of my big cozy couch that's grey. The couch feels safest after a long day when I curl up in the corner with a blanket. As I spend more time at home, I realize how important it is in my life. Home is where I can relax, think, and be surrounded by people who care about me. Even when the house feels loud, it feels comforting. When I open the door after a long day, I instantly feel calmer. It’s like all my stress stays outside. As I grow older, I realize how important these moments are. One day, I know I’ll look back and miss the noise, the mess, and the little arguments. No matter how many houses I live in, home will always be the place where my family is. It’s where I feel safe, loved, and myself.
