My Homes
My home isn’t just a home for me; it’s like a game that cheers me up every time I go there because I have many homes that make me feel safe. The most special one is in Jamaica because half of my family members are there. Sometimes that makes me sad, but I still keep going for them, to make them proud. School also feels like home because there are teachers who want me to graduate and be successful in life.
Now I’m living in Canada and still trying to fit in at my other home with my mom, dad, sister, and older sister while going to a wonderful school and writing this. One thing I do with my family is that when I go home, my mom and my sister sit down, talk about their day, and eat dinner before I go to bed. The next day I wake up to the smell of a wonderful breakfast and eat with my dad before he goes to work to pay the bills. Then my sister and I get ready for school, and my mom packs our lunch bags. I walk to school, and my mom goes to school too.
When school is over, I go to an after-school program because my mom finishes school late. Then my mom picks me and my little sister up on the way home from school. And that is what home means to me.
