The Meaning of Home

When I hear the word home I don't think of a place that is only shelter. Home means a place where you should feel safe, warm and joyful like a kid jumping in puddles! It's a place to laugh with your friends and family. My parents, my siblings and I like to have movie nights together. We get bundled up, like a cozy polar bear and eat pizza together. The next morning as I walked softly into the kitchen in my butterfly pj’s the house was filled with the aroma of my moms delicious cooking of a traditional food called jollof rice which is my absolute favourite! It's so good and my big brother makes my favourite BBQ chicken! That smell always makes me feel at home and literally makes my mouth water. If you have siblings you may know that they could be really, really, really irritating sometimes but that is just how it works. But I still love to play with my brothers even though we fight sometimes. When I was six years old me and my brothers would wrap each other in a blanket and roll down the stairs. Ok, it might sound dangerous but it is so entertaining and makes fun memories. I love my family beyond love. I love them SO SO SO MUCH!!! My mom and dad are always there for me in my struggles and take care of me. My older brothers always keep the house really noisy by turning the volume on at full volume! It is annoying, trust me. That is what I think the meaning of home is. I wanted to say a BIG BIG thank you to Habitat for Humanity. I really appreciate your time reading this. God bless you.
