Meaning of Home

Home isn’t just a random building you wake up in and go to bed in. It’s a place where you should feel safe, cozy and loved. When I hear the word home I think of, a comforting place because there is really no other place to be than home. Then I start thinking, to myself, home feels exciting like a jumping kangaroo, but at the same time joyful like a kid dancing in the rain. Especially with my younger active sister that’s six. Then, when me and my sister come from school, my cute, relaxed budgies (a.k.a birds) go into serious mode and start chirping! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! And we have to give them a treat, so they stop chirping, because they really, Really, REALLY irritate our parents. Then, as we walk through the kitchen we smell the aroma of my mom's famous cooking, HOMEMADE FRIES! And as we walk outside to our backyard, we sniff the terrific smell of my dad’s B.Q.Q HAMBURGERS! That makes our mouths water. Later, when dinner’s ready our mom and dad would call us and say, “HULDAH! LIZ! DINNER’S! READY!” Usually on the weekends, we have this thing called personal time. Where we just relax for about 2 hours, mostly me and my sister would use our iPad while our parents would just chat. Chat, Chat, CHAT! But sometimes in the morning I would play the piano. Ding-a-ling-a-ling. Sometimes, when I feed the bird (IT’S ME! Not my sister, not my parents. ME!!!!!!), I feel their soft, warm feathers. But sometimes, when I feed them I try to lift them and sadly, they fly away. And that's the meaning of home to me. A Big Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for reading this, I really appreciate it. God Bless You!
