What Home Means to Me

Home means a place to feel cherished and accepted overall, but the inner details are different in every home. Some people are happy they are out of war, others are happy they are out of the orphanage, but my home feels like this: It’s a place where I can feel relaxed and calm all the time because it’s safe and I know all the people there. But it’s not only the people that make my home my home, it's the tastes of mouth-watering chili, tacos with salsa and sour cream, along with cookies that my amazing mom makes. I hear the dog whining to go outside to see the dog across the road named Charlie. I hear my brothers wrestling upstairs like baby lions but mom stops it. Then she and dad decide what to do as punishment for it . I smell the wonderful aroma of baking cookies in the air along with boy sweat and at grandma’s house I usually smell wonderful cakes baking in the oven just waiting to be frosted. And, finally I feel my fluffy dog’s furry coat ruffling in my hand and I feel my brothers when I am wrestling with them. Every refreshing night I feel the softest blankets in my hand. So now that you know what my amazing home feels like [and smells like and tastes like and sounds like] you can tell me what your home feels like and smells like and tastes like and sounds like!
