My Home
The meaning of home to me is that it is a safe place. We talked about tangible and non-tangible things in class. My house, which is tangible, feels like a shield that protects me from bad people and bad things. Also, sometimes when I’m scared in bed I can pull my blankets over me to feel safe.
As for non-tangible things that make a home, like happiness and fun, playing video games with my family, especially my cousins, makes me happy. I like being with my family as they make me feel safe, which again is my definition of home.
I am lucky to have my cousins, but I am also very fortunate to have my grandparents live above me, so I can go upstairs anytime to visit them. It is like having two homes stacked on top of each other.
The thing about being with my family is that I can be myself. I don’t have to be scared of people trying to hurt me or be mean to me. They don’t try to change how I feel or who I am. I feel safe with my family, so my family is my home.
