The meaning of home

My home is not just a roof and four walls. It's a safe place with yearly memories. Just like family photos. Souvenirs, and the feeling of good warmth. All the rooms have a thoughtful memory. The living room. dedicated spots on the couch. A feeling of the good memories of the television and the comfort and tranquility of the Chesterfield. The kitchen. The living memories of all the magnets. And photos on the fridge. All the bought and homemade foods and condiments in the fridge. The sound of cutting vegetables. and fresh fruits. The sound of searing food on the pan. the heartfelt and warm comforting smell of a childhood cooked dinner. The laundry room. The cold feeling of the cold wooden floor on my feet as I watch my mother do the fresh dried laundry. The aroma of roses fills the room. Giving the cold room a warm feeling in the air. My own room. I walk into my room. The feeling of privacy and safeness fills the room. As I look at all my stuffed animals and Favorite objects. As I feel the pang of nostalgia hit me as I look around. I walk up my small stairs into my loft bed. I lay down for a moment. Feeling the warmth of my blankets as I'm laying down. I get up. I step out of the room as I walk down the cold squeaky stairs to the front door. I walk out. Barefoot, and cold. But I look behind me. Seeing my place. Called home. As I remember all my moments. and memories over the years. But now I know. We know. That our homes are not just a roof and four walls. It’s our safe place. Our comfort. Our Home.
