Home
Home is not just a house made with concrete
It's where our love for each other grows
Like a tree
Its branches in summer
Like a roof over my head
Keep me shaded from the sun
Home is like a fluffy cloud
I can rest on and wake up in the morning
The sunlight shining in my eyes
Through the curtain window like an alarm clock
After a long day of hardships
Home is always there
Waiting for me
Like a warm hug
Never going to let me go
Home is where I can relax in my room
While looking at the radiant sunset
Like nothing in the world is that serious
A place where I can tell my truest feelings
A place where I can say anything without the slightest judgement
A place where I don’t have to be scared to be myself
I don’t have to act like someone I’m not
I walk down the hallway
I see the memories
Hung up on the wall like a gallery
Too precious to touch
Home is where I can eat my mom’s homemade soup
Hear laughter echo throughout the room
And smile without trying
Home is where I can hear everybody talking over each other
And laugh at the same joke a hundred times already
Home is where I can snuggle up with family
And watch movies
While still hearing the popping sound of the buttery popcorn in the background
Home is the place I grew up in
The neighborhood where I learnt how to ride a bike
And make new friends
Home is where say my first word and take my first step
Where I can hear the faint laughter of me and my sister
Running in the hallway
Screaming
Toys scattered across the floor
I look out the window and imagine home
The kind that smells familiar and feels safe
There's home just there waiting for me
Just the way I remember it
