What Home Means to Me
Home is a structure to keep the wind off my skin
Keeping the rain from crashing down on my skin,
Keeping me warm in the cold winters.
Home is the structure of my whole family keeping all our memories nice and packed into one big house.
Home means to me a cozy room where I can sleep.
I know some families can't afford the high cost of living now, but all of us don't need big two-story houses to have a ton of memories in. Home to others is not going to be the same, but at least we can live and grow up. Home to me means a place where I can make my little crafts when I’m bored and play board games with my grandparents- especially my grandma (even though she forgets stuff). Home is where my whole family lives and I play video games with my brother.
Home to me is where I made bubble baths and the bubbles overflowed. When I used to lock the door to make potions as a kid in the bathroom and mix the different types of soap together, my parents would yell my name to find me and see what I was doing.
Putting pillows at the bottom of the stairs and seeing how many stairs I could jump, trying to wash my clothes by myself and almost breaking the washing machine. Buying chalk at the mall and my parents thought it was a bath balm and staining the tub bright pink. Home is the place where I have memories of making sugar cookies with my grandma and my cousins eating the cookie batter.
I know the sound of my dog Oslo biting the kitchen chairs while we
eat.
I know the smell of the supper being made from downstairs.
