Home is a feeling
Home could be the feeling of a warm hug after school, the feeling of somebody to talk to. Home doesn’t always mean family, it could be a friend who’s always there for you. Someone who’s there for the ups and the downs. Someone who understands, and helps you during tough times. But, for you, home could be a building, or it could be both.
Home holds all the memories you’ve made, and the ones that are yet to come. Home could change over the years, going from one place to another. Once, I had to move, but I was too young to remember. I was 3 or 4.
Home could be a smell, a sound, or a sight. It could be the smell of freshly baked cookies, or the feeling of a warm family hug. It could be hearing your family’s laughter, or seeing everyone’s smile. Home is a bunch of memories, happy or sad, excited or mad. Remember, family can be ANYONE, but as long as they’re there for you, they’re worth keeping.
As long as you feel safe, loved and happy, anywhere is home. You could feel at home with a person, a pet or even an alien! I got a new addition recently, which means more people, more chaos, more fun and more love to go around. Home means a place where you feel safe, happy and loved, and I hope everyone has a home in their hearts.
I thank the people at Habitat for Humanity for making sure everyone, young and old, have a place to call home. I think that a place to call home is a human right, so thanks again for everything you’ve done. Have a great day, people at Habitat for Humanity.
