What is home?

I believe that home is much more than just a house. Home is a place where you can be free. Home is a place where you know you are safe. Home is a place where you can smell delicious smells. For me, it's the smell of my moms freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. In most homes, there are objects that are special. For example, my minihoop, which I play on every day, my tablet, which I play games on, my bed that I sleep on and my TV so I can watch the 49ers games. But, it's not always just about the things in your house. Sometimes, it's about the people inside your house. Maybe it's your parents who are always there for you. Your siblings, who no matter how much you argue or fight or tattletale on each other, always have your back. But then again, it's not always the people either. Sometimes it's the emotions in your house that defines what home truly is. Maybe it's that rush of happiness when you get home from school. Maybe it's the joy of seeing your parents after a long day apart. Maybe it's the feeling of warmth when you get in your bed. That feeling of zen. All of these are examples of what home truly is. But one thing is for sure. Home is a place where you can just be you. It's a place where you can be loved. Home is a place where you can be free. And the truth is, home isn't just a building. It’s where memories are made. I love my home, and you should too.
