What is the meaning of home?

What is the meaning of home? By Hailey Erb What is the meaning of home? At first, I didn't know. But now I am quite sure. Home is a place where I can be sad or angry. Home is a place where I can be safe and calm. My emotions can change over seconds, but my home will not. The best part about home is that I can go back to it and refresh myself in a safe environment. My animals are one of the things I like to go back to; whether it's a cozy hug from my geese, or a wet snuggle from a duck, I can always go back to them. Even my dog, sitting on me by the fire, home is a safe place, through and through. When I feel down; sure, it can feel bad, but when I'm home, it makes stuff better. Like a warm hug from a parent, being home calms me down. Home isn't just your house; it's your rest place. Your home base, if you will. One thing that I love about my home is that rocking chair in my living room that has 5 coffee spills, 2 ketchup stains, and 3 yogurt splotches. Although they may just look like a mess, they show pride in our home. One good memory that I have is when I was five, on my dad’s workbench, I wrote “Mr. Dad” on all the drawers with a Sharpie. It was a mistake that I remember. So, to me, home is a lot of things. It can be a workplace, a rest spot, or even a playroom. So, home doesn't have one definition. It has more than one. But one thing is for sure. My home is at home. Thanks Mom and Dad, for helping me.
