My meaning of home
To me, the meaning of home is a place where you feel at peace, with yourself and the things around you. A place that feels like home is one that has a cozy vibe or even a peaceful atmosphere that isn’t stressful in any way. The things surrounding you give off a chill and optimistic vibe, and if I had the choice of getting a special and secret home, I’d have one that feels like you’re off in a faraway land that I can have all to myself, with little to no disturbances. Today, though, instead of sharing more about what I find to be a home, I will be sharing about a home that not just I, but also my cat Paddy, felt at peace with, and that I think is a solid definition of a place that isn’t at home but feels just as cozy and familiar. Let me explain. Following the passing of one of my cat’s friends, my family had to leave home for a couple of days for a hockey game. We had to bring Paddy along with us, and he didn’t really take that very well. The ride home was also very stressful, with the cat meowing and my family members being a pain to deal with. When we got to the hotel we were staying at, I noticed we had been here before. After that the cat finally calmed down, and I got to relax with him. I realized that the meaning of "home" can be interpreted as many different things. In that instance, the home is the hotel, a place where I feel calm and collected with my family. The End.
