A Home versus a House

There are differences between a home and a house. For example, a house has walls, windows and a roof. It also has furniture. But a home is different. A home has memories and laughter. A home to me is where I feel comfortable and safe. For me, a house feels empty. A house is a structure, therefore, there is no feeling in a house. If you were to brainstorm the differences between a home and a house, you’d probably have more ideas for a home than a house. So, for me a house isn’t necessarily a home. A home is the feelings and the memories. One of my favourite memories is prepping for those big family dinners we would host. We would laugh and have fun as we cooked the delicious food and set the table. The best part is when the family came because it feels so good to be around my loving relatives. Finally, community is also a great thing to have. A community is where there are people to support and most of all, take care of you. So for me a home is about the feelings, the laughter, and most of all, the family. That’s what a home means to me.
