The Feelings of Home

What is a home? It’s just walls, a roof, & rooms, right? What if I took away the “a” and asked: what is home? That doesn’t really sound like an object anymore. Well, that’s because I don’t think it is. Beyond those walls, and around those corners, there’s a deeper meaning. Home could be an object, but it’s more the feelings and memories that object brings. Picture this: your couch. Object, right? Yeah, but think. What makes your couch special? My couch reminds me of tons of things. There's the less happy memories, like staring at the ceiling when I’m home sick; and more joyful memories like watching funny movies with my family. Or even just calming ones like when I read there. Emotions. Laughs. Belonging. All the feelings of home. A home may live on a property. But home lives in our hearts.
