My New Home: Beyond the Deep Blue
Traveling through the Pacific Ocean to my new home was rather scary though exciting. As I was travelling, a quote came to mind “home is the nicest word there is.” My home in Malaysia is the nicest place I have ever known. I was born in Malaysia till we decide to leave
When we arrived, we had no idea where our new sanctuary would be. We started our journey and found a beautiful home in Regina, Saskatchewan. This new home connected us to the wonderful school and teachers I have. My last memory in Malaysia was me hugging my grandparents tightly as I said “goodbye.”
Some will say home is just a building or a place but for me it is a sanctuary where we feel safe, comfortable, protected, and where we are accepted as who we are.
At home we make crafts, do our homework together, and play games. Our home is special because it always shares the joy of music with our neighbors. My brother and I play the piano. I play the ukulele and my brother plays the flute.
Why home? Choose a sanctuary because people love you and support you. I love my home so much because my parents love and take care of me. I would like to conclude with a question. What does home mean to you? Home means a lot to you like it means to me.
Here is an acrostic poem I wrote:
H eartfelt moments shared
O pen doors and loving hearts
M emories together
E veryone feels safe
