Home Isn't Just A Place

Home isn’t just a place. My home might not be spacious or luxurious but that is not what matters most, it’s what unfolds in it. My home tells lots of stories, some good, some bad. But no homes are truly perfect, in my home arguments and fights might happen, but we would always fix what we do wrong. My mom and grandmother cook many delicious Chinese meals for me like dumplings or fried rice! Every day we would sit down and enjoy the meals together while we share about our day or tell jokes, and most importantly, the moment we all share; the laughter, the crying and the joy of having each other! Our pictures on our living room shelf aren’t just simple photos , they’re memories, most of all they all tell different and unique stories, stories of me and my family and the time we spent together. Our living room is our club.We hang out, drink hot tea and share precious moments together like, curling up on a cold, wispy evening together and watching Chinese comedy shows or simply chatting away! Our bedroom isn’t just where we sleep, it’s where we relax and feel safety. After dinner we would either play cards or a traditional Chinese board game called Mah Jiong.But we wouldn't just be playing together, we would be learning new things!Sometimes when I feel down, home would be like a bonfire, it feels warm, cozy, and most importantly, safe.home is like a shield protecting me from all things bad and negative.A house is a structure, but a home is where you should feel love and safety.Most of all, you have your loved ones by your side, encouraging you on every step.That’s why, home isn’t just a place.
