Home Sweet Home

A home is where I hear laughter, A house is where I hear silence. A home is where I see people I love, A house is where I see empty rooms. A home is where I smell the delicious food that my mom or stepdad is cooking, A house is where it smells stale and dusty. A home is where I taste pasta or maybe cinnamon buns, A house is where I taste… nothing because it’s not where my family is. A home is where I feel warmth and love, A house is where I feel cold and lonely. In my home we dance around everywhere. I have been moving back and forth from Winnipeg to here in St Claude. My mom told me now that she and I found my stepdad, we’ll stay here in St Claude. First, I didn’t believe her but now I do. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for giving a home to every human who need it. Because we all know that everyone on earth deserves a home like mine.
