A Simple Poem of Home
A Home is a refuge, not just four walls,
A place where you can be yourself.
Memories echoing through the halls,
A place of comfort, in itself.
A Home is a place of laughter and fun,
Where you’ve shared memories with everyone.
Though you have quarrels, your family loves you,
The smells and the sounds are familiar too.
A Home is a place where you belong,
A place you feel trusted, and also loved.
Somewhere that is always beloved,
A place where you sometimes sing songs.
A Home is also a place of warmth.
Somewhere you can sit under a quilt,
While a cold wind blows from the North,
Drinking Hot Cocoa at full tilt.
A Home is something I will always remember,
Somewhere I live, safe and warm,
A stronghold from the mental storms
And of this home, I will always be a member.
