What makes my home feel like home?
Home isn’t just a building with walls and a roof, it’s more like a warm feeling that starts as soon as you walk through the door. When I get home from school, I can finally stop trying to be "perfect" and just be my weird self. I don't have to worry about my popularity or if I'm acting right or if I'm not being noticed because my house is like a giant invisible shield that keeps the stressful stuff outside. It’s where the Wi-Fi connects automatically and I can go straight to the kitchen to see what’s in the fridge, even though I know it’s probably leftovers. My home has all these special sounds and smells that make me feel safe. I like the way the floorboards creak in that one spot and how the kitchen always smells like whatever my mom or dad is cooking for dinner. My favorite part is my own room, which is filled with all my stuff like my old Lego sets, my books, and the fluffy blanket I’ve had forever. It’s my "base" where I can play video games, draw, or just lie on the floor and daydream without anyone bothering me. But the biggest reason home feels like home is the people. It’s where my family is, and even if we argue
Sometimes…..oh alright fine a lot, but I know they love me no matter what. It’s the place where we have traditions, like eating pancakes on Saturday mornings or watching movies together in our pajamas. When I’m at home, I feel noticed and happy because I know I belong there. It doesn’t matter if the house is big or small or if it’s messy as long as my family is there, it’s the best place in the world.
