Home, A Place of Happiness

I love my home, every room, every memory, every single moment. My home isn’t just a building; it is a place for me. A place of love, joy and laughter. A place where I can be myself. My home is made just for me. My bedroom is my oasis. In my room, I spend countless hours sleeping on my bed. When I lay down, it is like I am receiving a warm and cozy hug. My blankets are like walls protecting me from anything unwanted. My kitchen is where my dad and I cook. We cook steaks, soups and pastas. My favorite part of cooking is seeing the smiles on my family members’ faces when we serve them our food. My kitchen is also where my grandma and I bake together. My grandma is the queen of baking. We bake lots of different desserts. My favorite dessert is her famous chocolate chip cookies. My living room is my favorite place to be. On the weekend, my family and I play board games. We do this because it fills us with happiness and joy. My mom and I love to play Jenga together. It is her favorite game. In my living room, I binge watch TV shows with my mom and my brother. This is one of my most loved activities. During the summer, my brother and I play in my backyard all day. We play basketball for many hours. Sometimes I let him win, just because I am better than him. I also like to bounce on our trampoline. We play this game that I made up, it is kind of like Marco Polo, but on land. I like to play this game with my cousins. When I play this game the sound of laughter fills the air. I am so lucky to have such a beautiful home, a home that I feel loved in, a home that I feel joy in. I love my home, and I hope more people can have a home to love. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity.
