What Home Means To Me

Home doesn’t have to be a house. Home doesn't have to be a building. Home could be a family member, it could even be a special spot in the middle of nowhere. But home for me is my brothers. Yes I know that brothers can be annoying at times, but the truth is home isn’t home without them. Home for me is also having a safe place to be able to go to. When I am home I can't wait for when we play our board games as a family or when we snuggle up on the couch to watch our shows. Home for me is like having your very own playground. Whether that's like pretending that the floor's lava in the living room, or playing hide and seek in the rooms your mom tells you not to go in but still do for the fun of it. Home for me means the memories that I make in the place I call home. I have more than one place that I call home, but my favorite one would have to be my local hockey rink. That cold rink holds a safe place for me in my heart. It’s the place where I first learned to play hockey, the place where I learned about teamwork and dedication, but it’s also the place where all the people I love are. That is what makes the hockey rink such a special place for me. I wouldn’t care if I was on a deserted island, or in the jungle, or wherever life takes me. For me home means to be with the people I love. Change happens so fast that I'll hold these memorable moments forever in the home of my heart. That is what home truly means to me.
