Writing About Home

A home is much more than a building; it's a place for togetherness and making memories. One of my favorite places for togetherness is my back yard. My favorite thing to do in my backyard is to have campfires and roast marshmallows. My brother and I sometimes have competitions to see who can roast the best marshmallow. One of my best memories that I have in my backyard is when my brother, uncle and I were all on the trampoline together, we had a sprinkle under the trampoline and poles on the side that held some little sprinklers that would lightly sprinkle you, we had so much fun jumping and getting wet. I think everyone deserves a comfy place where you can talk about your days. The comfy relaxation place for me is my living room. My family and I watch lots of movies and shows together. My favorite part of the day is when I get to come home and sit in the living room and talk about our day and life. Even on those tough long days, we will eat supper in the living room to settle down and de-stress. This is one of my favorite parts of being in a happy, loving home is having a brother. My brother and I may not always get along but we have such a strong relationship that we always come around and say sorry. Us as siblings love playing mini sticks together. We always have fun and laugh but sometimes we will get a little competitive. We love building lego together and making some really cool things. I usually am the one with the simple stuff like a house and he’s the creative person who makes cool vehicles. When we were really little we used to make really funny videos together. Now that we are older we look back at those videos and laugh and remember it’s good to be yourself and funny. I think it is amazing to have a place where you can be a family and bond. I have a lot of meaningful places and memories in my home. Habitat for humanity wants to make sure everyone has a safe and happy home to live in. People take their time off their days to make sure people can live a safe and happy life. A house is made out of walls and beams, a home is made with love and dreams.
