What Home Means To Me

Home isn't just a place where I sleep, live and do homework, it's where I belong, where I feel comfortable and most importantly, loved. My home is where my family is, where we make memories. My home is like a shield from the cruel outside world. In my kitchen there's this majestic smell coming from my mom’s pakoras and biryani. It’s not just the food I love – it's what we do while we eat the food that makes it unique. We share stories about the day and laugh about them. The fridge is pasted with art that my sisters and I created over the years and family pictures we have taken at special events. Our fridge doesn’t just hold food, it holds memories. My favourite part of my home is my room! The place where I feel myself the most, the most comfortable. My bed is so cosy, it’s the place where I have my sad and happy moments. My room has my memory box full of art and pictures from my childhood. It has all my favourite things. My room is where I figure out my identity, what is important to me and what I stand for. Home isn't measured by its size or its walls but by the love that's inside. Because of that love, my home is my everything .No five star hotel can replace it. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for creating this competition so kids like me can define their meaning of home
