Meaning of Home

Home is not just a place, it is a building that holds memories and loved ones. Home is a place where I can just be myself, and not someone else that people want me to be. In the kitchen there is food on my plate from my moms home cooked meals. On the walls I see memories of us spending time together and us on vacation. When I come home I feel safe because it’s like a shield protecting me from bad things in my life. In my house talking and laughter fills the room from top to bottom. And in my house I see family, I feel warmth, I smell my moms food, I taste Italian food and I hear laughter. In my room I see paintings that my mom made. And pictures of family and friends made by the people I love. Those are all things that remind me of home. There are many meanings of home, but what I think it means is “family” because no matter what house you live in, you just need family to be there. Doesn't matter if you move a lot, it just matters if you have loved ones nearby. Home can be everywhere or anyone. My parents are like home because when I'm with them I feel safe and sound. This is what home means.
