Home to Me

Having a home is a privilege, a great one. I love my home, I love waking up every morning knowing I'm loved and safe with a home that brings me comfort and joy, so does my family. My mom is joy, safety, comfort, and protection. My sister is my best friend that never leaves my side. Together we have been through many ups and downs. but even though i might not have the best day, I know that when i come home that everything will be alright cause i have my family, and even just the little things that make my home such a special and comforting space like our, couch where we have movie nights and eat warm buttery popcorn, my soft silky bed where i can have the best sleeps of my life, the kitchen where delicious Nigerian cuisines are made with love, the living room where we dance wildly to afrobeats, the bathroom where we take hot showers and get all clean, the love me and my family share for each other. Not every one has this privilege, not every one has this life, thank you habitat for humanity for giving people desperately in need the home they deserve. You see my home is not just a shelter, it is not an object you can’t just walk into a random place and call it home, home is a feeling, a feeling of love, and that love is family and friends and habitat for humanity, My family and I make home, home with the special memories we make together that last forever.
