Always Home with Family
Charli had lived in the same house for eleven of her fourteen years of life. She always thought she’d live in that same exact place forever. That was until Charli’s father lost his job. Her family had to move across the country so that her dad could get a better job. Charli consistently tells people that their parents are always planning stuff but it never happens so she thought that her parents were not going to make them move.
Before she knew it, Charli was standing behind a moving truck and they were getting ready to go. After a long 7 hour car ride; Charli and her family arrived at her new house. They all walked in the door at the exact same time and Charli immediately went to her new room and dropped her stuff. She stayed in her room to process everything. That she would never see her friends again.
“I’m not at home anymore.” Charli thought. “My old house is where my home is.” After over 1 hour of sitting in her room on her phone, Charli went downstairs.
She sees her Dad in the kitchen cooking dinner while her Mom is in the living room watching football. It was what her family would always do at the old house. After a delicious dinner, Charli talks to her parents about how she feels. They look at each other in an awkward way. Like they had the same idea. Charli caught on and quickly grabbed the popcorn while her dad grabbed the soda and her mom went onto Netflix. They all sat down and started a new movie.
“What a coincidence Charli. This movie is called Home.” Her Dad said.
Charli felt safe. Happy. Loved. Truly at home.
“Remeber Charli. You’re always home when you’re with your family.”
