Home Is Where the Heart Is

A fire crackles in a hearth, a warm plate of food has been served; A quiet, a loud, and for all its worth, a spot in your heart has been reserved. For love given to you, from others, from yourself; A safe place to decompress, to not overwhelm. A loving environment, whether alone or with others; Not a need for a house, a structure or another; The sentimental value is what truly matters. “Home is where the heart lives” my friends say to me; But what if my heart lives, wherever they’ll be? “Home is a house” some people say to me; But everywhere you can look, is a home to somebody. Although, a home can be a tent, or pile of wood, or wall of cement; Home should be safe, and it can be dreamt; That everyone should live somewhere private, a place without battles. Safety and security are what I think matters most ; Wherever you live, from coast to coast; Habitat for Humanity plays an important role; To help society reach a goal; A space for all at an obtainable value; For loving families, to continue; To stay together, or to open new chapters. “Home is where the heart lives” my friends say to me; But what if my heart lives, wherever they’ll be? “Home is a house” some people say to me; But everywhere you can look, is a home to somebody.
