What home means to me

What is home? To me home is being around my family, trying my best and being myself. This is my essay of what home means and how it feels. Maybe home has a certain scent or maybe it's the location. To some people it's being in the place they live in, but how do we know what to call home? Being around family makes me feel grateful. Family is something that you have and I am grateful for what I have. To me family is people who care about me and the people who truly appreciate me. Family isn't the same things for everybody, but everybody has someone to call family. When I'm at home, I try my best to be a good sister, daughter and friend. When I try my best I feel welcomed into my home, like I'm meant to be there and I feel proud to have a nice house with an amazing family! When I walk inside I always feel welcomed by a scented candle. Sometimes the scent is cranberry or evergreen. One place I know I can fully be myself is at home. I feel that I can be silly, mad or upset. Being myself makes me feel loved. That feeling of love is when I walk into my home, drop my bags, take off my coat and move on. Being at home is where I can fully be myself. I live in a big house. That's my home but is that what makes me feel at home? Or is home where family is, a place I can try my best and a place to be just me. Home is the place you want to be, the place you feel safe in and the place you're loved. I'm at home when I'm around my family.
