A house is not a home

If I had to describe a perfect home it would be hard because I don’t think that a perfect home even exists. Some people say their home is perfect, but I know that's not true because there are ups and downs in every home. A perfect home is different for everyone. At home I feel surrounded by safety and laughter. I’m grateful that my parents pay for my sports and that I'm able to play those sports with my friends. My house would not be the same without my hockey equipment and soccer cleats everywhere. I feel happy I can wake up in a warm and comfortable bed and that I have a family that cares and loves me deeply. I’m grateful I can wake up to the fresh smell of bacon and eggs so I can have a full stomach for the rest of the day. I also appreciate that i have a roof over my head that my parents work hard for. If i had to move to a new home, I would miss all the funny and silly memories we made ever since I was born. I am grateful for everything but that's not all the truth some people don’t even have a home, and I think we need to realize how hard our parents work for things and we need to recognize how grateful we should really be. Thank you, habitat, for humanity, for helping those in need. -Sofia Stathers
