Where I Belong

To most people, a house is made of wood, glass, and brick. But to me, a home is made of memories and safety. When I think of home, I don't think of the roof over my head, or the person who gets their favourite spot on the couch. I think of the warm vanilla candle my mom places in the living room, or that delicious dish soap and my favourite food being made, as well as spending time with my family and having memories there. Whenever I have a difficult day at school I know being home will make me feel better. It's a place where you belong and feel mattered. Having a home means I don't have to worry about the rain or the cold. It’s my "reset button" after a long day at school. Everyone deserves to have a place where they feel brave and loved. That is why Habitat for Humanity is so important because every family needs a foundation to grow on
