A Place to Call Home
After moving to a new house, I tried to make it a home, but nothing worked. Even after trying for a long time, I couldn’t figure out what to do, so I gave up. After trying every day for a few months, I started going to school.
One day I went to school and at the start of the day we started our Meaning of Home project. The project was about what makes a home a home and what a home is to you.
When we started, we talked about a what a house is and a home is. I thought very hard about what I was going to write. To me, a house is where you live, sleep and eat, but a home is somewhere where you can spend time with the things and people you love. After deciding what the difference between a house and a home is, I started writing and editing for my project. Soon I stopped writing because I couldn’t decide.
Ater writing for a long time, I finished the project and I also solved my problem. A home can be anything if it means a lot to you or you have a lot of good memories there. It’s also about the things and people you love and cherish that makes it a home.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for helping people build their homes and futures for families around the world.
