What Home Means To Me

Sometimes a home can be a sensitive subject. Some people have a home, some people are constantly bouncing between homes, and some people don't have a home. I am very grateful to have a wonderful home. To me, a home is a place where you feel safe, loved and protected. These are the rooms in my house that make me feel this way. The kitchen is one of my favourite rooms in my house. This is the place where I help cut up vegetables and prepare meals with my family. It’s the first place I go when I get home. It's also where I do my homework. I like doing my homework in the kitchen because there is always someone there to help me. My overall favourite room in my house is my bedroom. I am very fortunate to have a room to go to when I want privacy. I can read, play and colour. I can express myself with the colours of my room, the pictures on my wall and the decorations on my shelves. Sometimes my room may look messy, but I think it's perfect. I know where everything is, I know where everything is supposed to go, everything has a place. I am very thankful to have these rooms to hang out in and be myself. But some people don't have the same privileges that we do. Some people unfortunately don't have clean water, fresh food or a roof over their head. Most things that we take for granted. In conclusion, I love having a place where I can be myself and share my emotions. In my life I have lived in two houses but the house I currently live in is the only one I remember. My pictures are here, all of my memories and most importantly my family is here.
