What Home Means to Me

When I think about home, it isn’t just a place or a building, a home is a safe and secure place where I feel happy and can find comfort, love and support while being myself. It is a place where I can prepare for hockey and find the support I need before a big hockey game. It means a lot to me that I can be myself at home and can invite friends and family into my home and make them feel comfortable and loved. It is a place where I can play freely and not be bothered. It is a place where I can eat good meals, have a good sleep and rest my mind and my body after school and hockey. My home is a fun place to hang out with my family and friends, where we can play hockey, watch TV, play videogames and have a lot of fun entertaining them. It is a place where I can calmly rest and play. My home is a loud place but with tons of love and laughter, talking, and noises from my brothers, the TV and YouTube but it can also be a quiet place when we all finally fall asleep. We live, laugh, love and play mini-sticks in our home which makes my home a very fun and loud place to be. Our home is a place where memories are made and found like Christmas mornings, Easter egg hunts, Halloween candy dumps, and big birthday parties. Even when we move, the building may change but the feeling of home comes with us. My home is a place that even smells familiar like the smell of my goalie gear airing out in the basement or my parents cooking a meal. I hope that others can have a safe and secure home where they can find love and comfort just like me.
