Home is Also a Feeling

To me home isn't just a place, it's a feeling. When I feel like I'm home I feel safe, loved, and supported. Home is my safe place. It's like my own safehouse protecting me. When I get home after I've had a bad day and I walk in it feels like all those bad feelings just go away. Home is where I can express myself, it's where I don't have to act like things don't bother me. Home isn't just the house you live in to me my nan’s and uncle’s houses feel like home too. When I'm there I feel like they will love and support me no matter what happens and no matter what I'm going through they will always be there for me. Home is where I can go visit my dog's grave, go fishing with my family and go skating on the pond next to my house. All these things are what makes a house feel like home. A house is just a place you eat but home is where you laugh and talk over supper and where you make memories and you bond together. At my home every year me and my mom make christmas slush and we always start a new Netflix show together. Sometimes we get into arguments. I hate when that happens but we know that we don't mean anything we say. My brother and I always fight, when that happens I don't like it at all! Even though I never mean anything I say. Over the summer me and my brother play Monopoly together in this little hut in my backyard. We would sit there for HOURS playing all summer. I love to spend time with my dad and uncle. They are the best! They always make sure that I'm okay. There is one of my uncle's friends that he introduced me to a couple of years ago. He has a special place in my heart because he's just the kindest person I've ever met. I love to spend time with him. There's so many more people but these are just a couple people that make me feel like I'm home. When I'm home people aren't talking about me behind my back or bullying me. Home is where people don't do that and where they help you, not bully you. Home is a safe place, a good place, a loving place, a healthy place. When you are home you should feel things that you can't put into words because home is more than just a place, it's a feeling.
