A Home is...
Home is a place where I’m comfortable to express myself about my school day or what I want for Christmas to my family and friends around the dinner table. To help my mom with cooking the spaghetti, or help by stirring the sauce. Even having my grandma visit and we bake cookies. Especially when the mixer goes crazy and batter gets on the walls, floors, and everyone ends up laughing. It’s those funny moments in your life that make it not a house, but a home.
Or playing hide and seek and you try to find the best hiding spot, but you're still the first found. You hid with your sibling and they made faces at you, making you laugh. You're still untroubled though, as you should be at home. Same with playing man-hunt in the dark, you're content and free the whole time, it's the feeling you get when you're at home.
You're carefree and always smiling when you're home, especially on family game night. Everyone votes for the first game, majority rules, uno it is, but not all are happy. Even after arguing about it being fair, nobody holds grudges, everybody is smiling. There are no grudges in your home.
When someone in your home is sad, you lift them up and tell them a joke to get them smiling again. When somebody is cold, you warm them up with a hug. When somebody is mad or making a fuss, you work it out, nobody holds grudges.
I would rather not be living than be living without all the memories I made in my home. All the fights with my brothers, to playing outside with my dogs. Home is not just a noun, or a place, it's the love in the people that live inside of it.
