What Home Means To Me
Home is my sanctuary. A place where I can run free. A place where I feel safe, and can be nurtured carefully, like a delicate plant. Home is a place where I can do my homework in peace, and there is almost always a person to play video games with. Home is where my memories are, and will always be. It’s where my sibling was born, where I had playdates, where I ate, slept, met up for parties, saw family, and lived. ‘Tis a place where I can watch TV, eat chips and cake, and wrap myself in a blanket burrito. For short, it’s my place of comfort, and relaxation. It’s where I go after a bad day, an amazing day, or simply just a day. Because it’s my area of refuge. It’s where I see my family. Home is where I see my parents, my siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandparents coming to visit. It’s also where I see my friends; ‘cause they’re also family to me. But Home is different for different people. Some people's homes are an apartment, house, condo, or anything in between. And some people’s homes are a place where they don’t live; like their school, or a park they love. In fact, some people feel at home with a person, or a group of people; kind, and understanding. Their home could even be an object! Like a stuffed animal, or necklace from a loved one. And all of that is okay. Because everyone is different. And the simple fact of that is amazing. So, in short, it’s where I, and other people belong. And i’m happy with it.
