The Meaning of Home

Home is my safe place. It is where I make memories. I come from Nigeria, a place where there is a lot of culture and traditions. I love my home here in Canada and Nigeria. Home is where my family is. I feel safe at home when my parents share stories of their childhood with me. When I'm playing with my brother and sister I feel loved and respected that they look up to me as their big sis. We have lots of fun as a family when we play games and watch movies together. So many memories come to me when I think of home like when my brother first started to walk. We took a video, I was there to see it firsthand and it made me feel so happy. My sister was born here in Canada. When I saw her for the first time she was like a cute bundle of joy. My family is where my home is. Like my grandma, she taught me some of my language from Nigeria. Sadly, she passed away. It makes me sad when I think of her sometimes. When I do I remember she is still with me in my heart. My family and I are a team. We work together and solve problems. It is where I feel safe and loved when in tough times we get through it together. I love my family and my family loves me.
