The Meaning of Home to Me

Home isn’t just a structure; it’s like a big blue sea. On certain days, its peaceful and calm, everyone is relaxed and it’s just quiet like waves stroking the shore. But some days, its loud and chaotic, like breakers crashing on the rocks. Maybe it is a sports day, maybe preparing for a trip, but we still love it, loud or quiet, whether at the house or not, just love. My home does not have to be in my neighborhood because wherever my family goes, its home. If we ever must move, or if something happens to all our stuff, it will be sad but if I am with my family, it will be okay. My family fills me with love and care like no one else. They shield me from the cold and grey, and they make sure I am feeling better when I am down. My family is my home. Sometimes, I feel like I have a second home. Every day I go new places and see new sights but one place sticks in my mind. Every day for nine years I have gone on a 15-minute drive to my second home - my dance studio. I know that place like the back of my hand, it is not like it’s a big fancy mansion or where I sleep every night, it’s just a small place where big memories happen. I have cried huge tears there, but the people there made me smile, laugh and make me feel better. I express big emotions through dance, and dance takes it in and makes it easier to feel them. Dance is my safe place; dance is my second home. Home can mean many different things, it can be feelings, maybe people you love, or even a special place but this, this is the meaning of home to me.
