What is Home?
What is Home
By Emily Owens
What do you see when you say home? A home doesn't have to be a house that makes it a home, it could be a person or pet. Home can be anywhere as long as you feel safe, loved, and supported.
The first thing is that a home should feel safe. To be comfortable in a place or around someone you need to feel safe. Safety in a home is one of the most important things to have in a home. Safety in a home is one of the factors that contribute to a child's life. To me, safety looks like having food in the fridge and a nice place to sleep at night.
Secondly, home is a place for you to feel loved. Love inside a home should be a welcoming feeling. For someone's well being they should have love in their home to feel happiness. Love is a thing that keeps some people moving on in life. Without it some people might not be able to move on so easily as others.
Love is shown in my house through helping each other and saying kind words. With that being said love is a feeling that should always be in a home.
Last but not least, support is something people in your home can show. Support can be shown in sports, clubs, or showing up to something important. Support doesn't always have to be only the positive times, many times things can be rough, so they should also support you there.
No matter where or who you’re with, when you feel safe, loved, or supported it will feel like home. Now what do you see?
