What is a Home?

What is a home? I really don’t know if it is just a building, is it just a roof over my head? What I think, a home is a place where you feel safe no matter what, a place where you feel like you will belong no matter what, it makes me feel warm on the coldest day of the year, where the people you care about most live, a home is a place where my heart feels full. A home is not just a house, a home is a place that gives me a lot of comfort and support. A home isn't perfect but I love the imperfections the most. Home is a place that makes me laugh so hard that my belly starts to hurt. In the living room there are hundreds of memories hanging up on the wall. It’s a place that makes me put a smile on my face even on the saddest days. In the kitchen there are so many good smells that you can almost taste, I have so many memories of making cookies and other desserts with the people I care about most. My bedroom is a place where I feel most warm and cozy on the coldest of days, it’s a place where it’s so quiet that you can hear air whispering in the air on the wall. It’s a place where I don’t have a care in the world about what's going on. I used to think a home was a place where you can escape reality, but what a home really is, it’s a place where my soul has finally found peace. Home is the warmest blanket wrapped around me.
